About Northwood Northwood Elementary is located on 26 acres in north Fulton County, just east of Georgia 400 and one mile north of Holcomb Bridge Road. Northwood opened in August 1996 as an accredited Fulton County elementary school for students in kindergarten through fifth grade. Northwood presently enrolls over 850 students in a state-of-the-art facility designed with three learning communities--River Walk, Seascape, and Mountain View. Uniquely designed special education suites, comfortable planning areas, spacious media center, modern and safe gymnasium, well-designed specialist rooms, conveniently located administrative areas, cafeteria serving breakfast and lunch, and an atrium provide a superior learning environment for all students.
Specialists provide education in art, choral music, orchestra, band, physical education, media, and technology. Each classroom has personal computers and access to a fully equipped schoolwide networked computer lab. The principal, assistant principal, counselors, classroom support teacher, school social worker, psychologist, instructional support teacher and special education staff, teacher assistants, and approximately 40 general education teachers provide for the needs abilities, and interests of each child.

Unique Assets A tradition of Building Excellence Successfully Together began in Northwood's inaugural year. An outstanding team of professionals, a dedicated group of parents, a very proud community, and enthusiastic students are the heart and soul of Northwood.

An outstanding PTA which boasts 100% membership actively supports Northwood. Generous financial support for technology, special reading programs, teacher materials/supplies, and media center resources, as well as over 16,000 volunteer hours per year, are distinguishing features of the Northwood PTA. Reading programs to assist, enrich, and remediate students include Reach for Reading, Special Instructional Assistance program, Remedial program, and World Class Readers/Accelerated Reader.

Northwood's Business Board of Directors enriches the learning experiences of our students. Over 15 business partnerships provide equipment, supplies, facilities, programs, and financial support to teachers and students.
